“Hi everyone, I’m Matt, the new PFA Navigator here at PODS.
My experience is in Law and Education, teaching from entry level qualifications to GCSE for Post-16’s. I am currently a Governor at a specialist secondary school and have children with additional needs that are within the age range this role focuses on. I am a father of five children, two of which have additional needs including: Emotional Difficulties, High Functioning Autism, and Asperger’s Syndrome. As a result, I can appreciate some of the difficulties and barriers our young people face, as well as us as parents/carers.
As a PFA Navigator I’ll be in a great position to support you as we prepare our young people for adulthood. This can include areas such as:
- exploring further and higher education options
- considering employment and work experience
- looking at general life skills and independent living
- addressing ongoing healthcare needs
- enhancing social skills/experiences
